Maher Brothers Soccer Camp : About Us

ABOUT THE MAHER BROTHERS:
Anthony Maher and Matthew Maher were both born and raised in Cape May County. They grew up playing soccer for local recreation departments, the Cape Express soccer club, and eventually had stellar careers at Middle Township High School. They both went on to represent the state of New Jersey in Olympic Development Programs (ODP) and each earned college soccer scholarships at their respective schools. They are currently Professional Soccer Players, playing in The United Soccer League (USL-1) and Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL).

Anthony and Matt have a unique support system-- their family. The Maher Family has soccer in their blood! John Maher Sr. is in his 7th year as head coach of Middle Township High School and was recently named ‘2007 Coach of the Year’ by the Press of Atlantic City. He was former coach of the three-time state champion South Jersey Outlaws, and has the outstanding privilege of seeing his leadership principles produce 16 college captains (8 at the Division I level). Andrea Maher is the ‘camp mom’-administrator and soccer mom of 4 boys. Michael Maher is a former NJ State Cup Champion and graduated from the United States Naval Academy where he served as soccer captain. Anthony’s wife Anne is a former college soccer player, youth and camp coach, as well as a pre-school teacher.

Anthony Maher is currently entering his 7th season as a professional soccer player and third year with the Milwaukee Wave of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). He is also a member of the United States National Futsal Team. Anthony was born and raised in Cape May County, New Jersey and is very proud to bring Maher Brothers Pro Touch Soccer Camp to the area.

Matthew Maher
Founder, Current Pro

Matthew Maher is currently entering his 2nd season as a professional soccer player and second year with the Carolina Railhawks (USL-1) and New Jersey Ironmen (MISL). Like his brother Anthony, Matt was born and raised in Cape May County, New Jersey and is very proud to bring Maher Brothers Pro Touch Soccer Camp to the area.

Dwight Dunbracco
Co–Founder

Dwight Dunbracco has teamed up with the Maher Brothers to bring premier soccer training to Southern New Jersey. Dwight has been working with Cape County’s youth since 1986, he has coached and trained many kids to championships and helped push players to excel at the college level. Dwight Dunbracco is dedicated to develop and train soccer players to achieve success both on and off the field. Dwight was Anthony Maher’s youth coach at Cape Express Soccer Club and has been a soccer mentor to the Maher Brothers ever since. The relationship between the Maher Brothers and Dwight allows for these camps to become an exciting reality!

Jonathan Steele

Tara Davies
Camp Coach, Current Division I Player at Penn State University & W League Player

One of four Penn State recruits on the Soccer Buzz list of Top 150 National recruits Earned All-State honors and tallied over 104 goals throughout her high school career. Tara is considered the best female soccer player ever to come out of Cape May County.

Anne Maher
Camp Coach, Mini Kickers Director

Played College Soccer at Wayne State College, (1999-2003) Milwaukee Wave Summer Camp Coach Holds a degree in Kinesiology from University Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Anne is currently in her second year as a Christian Preschool Teacher.

Patrick Hannigan
Goalkeeper Staff Coach, Current Pro

3 Year Professional Soccer Player; USL-1 Starter for Miami FC and Rochester Rhinos; Member of the 2007 MISL Champions Philadelphia Kixx; Drafted in the 3rd round of the 2005 MLS draft; Signed for Bray Wanderers of the Eircom Irish Premier League. College All-American and Temple University graduate.
